So the world didn't end 06 06 06 no rapture, no return or the antichrist... nothing.
So when will the religious get their heads around the FACT that there is no god and never was.
Seriously faith? What’s it all about? In a court of law a good lawyer can dismiss a witness simply because they have been proven to lie before. Imagine the brains of people 2000 years ago, our children are more intelligent and understand the world better. Yet we still live by the teachings of these idiots that chose to change religions around to suit their own power base. These morons thought the world was flat.
As for creationism being taught our children, it’s as stupid as the world gets.
The tower of babel tells a tale of man trying to reach God and God in his wrath smite them down and made them all talk different languages just to put them back a bit, the moral of this tale is that we shouldn't try to understand the world and heavens or rather the real moral is this is a pretty petty god who gives not a jot about us and is trying to hold us back.
It's going on around us now, what we believe to be news is actually fiction told to make the population think a certain way, the holy books were more akin to law books, a set of commands to live by backed up by Machiavellian stories to wire the lessons into the sub conscious and therefore be retold, back then not every one could read.... well barely anyone, so holy stories were made up to allow pastors to get the message across in ways that the common man can retell again and again. Each time these Chinese whispers got repeated they changed until eventually they were written into the bible.
The bible is not the word of god it is the voice of man, no doubt argued over and politicised and revised in much the same way the European constitution is today, there was a first draft, a consultation period a lot of editing by bureaucrats and eventually ta daaa the bible appears... great now what ? It’s a work of fiction at best.
No one knows the truth, if all religions believe themselves to be the truth that puts 80% of the believers in the wrong. Totally and utterly in the wrong floundering around with their old beliefs, yet they fight for their corner and they fight crusades and holy wars all with the threat of Armageddon, man can these god types fight over themselves. Look at any monotheism to see how Christians and Muslims each claiming that their religion is the one true god can’t even decide amongst themselves who is right. In Islam we have the Sunnis, the Shiites and the Sufis, you have the Christians with Catholic, Methodist, Anglican, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Lutheran and Baptist churches. Even so most Christian Churches preach that Jesus was actually the incarnation of God on Earth, some, such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that Jesus was not God but an incarnation of the Archangel Michael. Get over it you monkeys you're all wrong. If there is a god and this is stretching it a bit I reckon a lot of religious types who have killed in his name are gonna be pretty well burning for eternity, but there isn’t so you just have to get on with each other whilst you are here.
Look at these god loving Christian who in Gods name have slaughtered thousands of Pagans, hundreds of thousands of heretics, hundreds of thousands of “Different” Christians and throughout history and to this day continue to kill and maim innocent Muslims.
You see church and worship? It’s all a load of rubbish really. Why would an all powerful omnipotent, loving being created life then expect us to thank him for it every minute? He certainly wouldn’t want us all killing each other over the details.
On one hand a monotheism religion claims god’s word is inscrutable and not really open to broad interpretation but interpret it we do and obviously, for we are only man get it wrong then fight each other over the very details we made up ourselves.
Even in modern day L Ron Hubbard declared the only way he is going to get rich is to create his own religion, so he did and many people followed. That just tells me that on the whole mankind is unthinkably stupid to actually y follow a religion that in the words of its own creator was made up.
2000 years after the birth of Christ a religion was made up about people are still following and fighting over. Christ didn’t suffer for our sins as we still have to repent. Christ didn’t really suffer at all in comparison to the suffering that has gone since in his name. He caused a lot of suffering but in the end has saved no one as no one knows what to follow so make there own stuff up.
If I were to create a religion I would change a few things about Christ.
Christ Suffered for our sins?
Ballcocks to that he had 33 years preaching helping and saving, then one bad day on a cross which many had suffered before and since. If he was Jesus and Jesus is God then he knew he would suffer no longer, he said on the cross Why have your forsaken me? What’s that all about he’s freaking talking to himself right there. Yet when a man is buried in an earthquake wondering if he will ever get out a life, wondering if the rescue people will come, wondering if his family will evade poverty without him, wondering if he has been good enough to get into heave and once again be reunited with his loved ones… now that’s suffering. Jesus knew he was going to heaven which I’m told is not a bad place to be.
In my version Christ would have suffered horror unknown by man before or since then would have spent the last 2000 years burning in hell for our sins. Now that’s guilt, that’s sacrifice. Not being bought back to life by himself three days later to spend the rest of his days in glorious heaven on the right hand side of himself/god.
Imagine if you will giving your child a tasty treat, a rich sticky chocolate bar which melts in the mouth and tastes divine as you eat it. Now this child is thankful, so thankful in fact that he thanks you for it all weekend, then the next week and the week after, the child is so thankful he thanks you for the treat every week for a year. You say well did you enjoy the chocolate bar he says no I still have it here and in his pocket is a melted packet of putrid gunk. So busy thanking for the chocolate bar he never actually ate it until it was too late to enjoy it.
How many religious people have laid on their death beds in a shell of a broken, diseased or aging body and thought? Have I enjoyed my life, have I really made the best of the gift I was given. Was I too busy protecting the name of an almighty being in whose name I have hated others of his creation? Is this almighty being so weak that I a mere mortal man needs to project him and make him feel good about himself.
So me.. Personally I am going to enjoy that bar of chocolate my life, live it, make love, eat food, drink wine, make friends, see sights, help others, and most certainly never harm others of his creation. AND IF he's there when I die, I'll thank him for my life then and probably ask for another :)
Then he can look down and see that the gift he gave me I am enjoying, it's making me happy and hopefully I am making other happy. Now if I were that god that’s all the thanks I would need. So stop fighting each other, blowing each other up with bomb jackets and smart missiles, and just enjoy your lives you sorry sons of apes. I don't think when you were made in the heavens the divine plan was for you to start killing each other as soon as your faith was shaken. but as there is no God, no grand design, no intelligent design no rapture to come, I think the same still applies, as jerry Springer oft said, "Look after yourselves... and each other" . I applaud your blog, former JW member speaks out.
My family is dysfunctional and shuns me all because i exercised my freewill not to be enslaved to the Watchtower corporation.
The core dogma of the Watchtower organization is that Jesus had his second coming 'invisibly' in the year 1914.Their entire doctrinal superstructure is built on this falsehood.
Jehovah's Witnesses door to door recruitment is by their own admission an ineffective tactic. They have lost membership in all countries with major internet access because their false doctrines and harmful practices are exposed on the modern information superhighway.
There is good and valid reasons why there is such an outrage against the Watchtower for misleading millions of followers.Many have invested everything in the 'imminent' apocalyptic promises of the Jehovah's Witnesses and have died broken and beaten.
